Final Luffness painting, for now ..

Above: Forest of Luffness 18. Oil on Canvas Diptych 30×30″ and 30×12″. Rose Strang 2025

This is the final painting in the current Luffness series. I may continue painting this theme later in the year but it would take a different form.

Rather than explain or describe the meaning behind this series, I’m going to let the documentary explain that.

It’s going to be beautiful, with specially commissioned music, a highly talented film-maker, powerful ideas, and moving observations, expressed by Richard Demarco. The first draft might be ready by mid July. After some final tweaks it should be ready for public viewing by August.

In the meantime, here are all the paintings in the series …

Well done on completing this series, Rose. I know it’s been quite the journey!

I like the asymmetrical diptych format of that last painting. I don’t think I’ve ever seen that before.

I look forward to the documentary being released too!

Hi Chris, many thanks for your encouraging words, I think you’ll very much enjoy the documentary. It’s taken us a while to get everything filmed and worked out as we’re all busy with various projects, but finally it’s getting edited in the coming weeks. Yes the assymetrical diptych was just to highlight some aspects I suppose – to ask the viewer to look and contemplate. Thanks again Chris, hope you’re having a lovely weeekend!

What a beautiful conclusion to a long-wrought effort, shared with me up-close, in spend time with You & Ad, and the happy chat around & between!

Yes – that asymmetric Diptych, is special!

So also- is the fall of light, and the density/ambience you have some-how captured – having visited that place, with you.

    Much love from me –
