Painting process – finished painting

Here’s the seventh video showing the process of a painting (which I’m calling ‘The Path’ for now) from my new series inspired by the remains of a Carmelite friary in the mysterious forest of Luffness.

I’m talking here about what my intentions were in making the painting – facing our mortality, protecting life and experiencing the wonder of life. I might just call this painting ‘The first of June in the forest of Luffness’ but I’ll have a think!

These videos are also posted on my instagram which is findable under ‘Rose Strang art’

Hi Rose, hope you are well.Watched your videos of your painting the crypt scene and found them quite enlightening. I now realise that there is more to painting than slapping paint onto a board or canvas. The feeling you put into your processes is obvious. You are a talented lady.Best regards DavidSent from my Galaxy

Hello David! Long time no hear 🙂 Thanks for watching these – it’s a bit of a departure from previous work so it’s lovely to hear that you’ve found it interesting and thanks for your kind words. If I get an exhibition going in Edinburgh I’ll let you know, it would be great to catch up with you and Fiona too. I mostly show up north and down south though, all best to you and family!

Thanks for sharing these videos, Rose. It’s been interesting to see your process and hear what you were thinking about as you made the painting.
