Currently in progress (August 2026) The Glenshee series is a group of moody chiaroscuro oil paintings on small wood panels, depicting the high mountain pass that leads north into the Cairngorms. The series came out of my repeated journeys through the glen while exhibiting the Living Mountain Series at the Braemar Literary Festival

The oxblood reds are more obvious, bringing a visceral quality, maybe a sense of the danger of these mountains, post-glacial, when it wasn’t just about getting lost in cold mist, but encountering bears, wolves and lynx … Glenshee 2
